ULMA Polymer Concrete is present in the Tower Siskin, the tallest skyscraper in Benidorm and tallest residential building in Spain, through its line of Ventilated Facades. It is a tower located in a privileged spot in the Levante beach which has 42 floors and 158 meters. This spectacular building is in the vicinity of the natural park of Sierra Frost, in a fairly high with respect to sea level (60 meters), the which together with its height gives it a strong presence on the skyline of Benidorm.
Sustainability and energy efficiency
Made with the most advanced construction techniques in sustainability and energy efficiency throughout the work has followed a strict monitoring of all materials used and the sustainability of all of them. Furthermore, in order to obtain optimum performance from an energy standpoint, it has taken a series of measures, including ventilated facade is used for Polymer Concrete ULMA.
Adolfo Rodriguez, architect and author of the project, lists the advantages http://www.ulmapolimero.com/es/fachadas-ventiladas/ offered:
• The resolution of construction details with a ventilated façade system, along with reinforced concrete walls, give the building a great thermal inertia that makes better use of the climatic conditions of Benidorm and a lower impact on energy expenditure in climate, both winter and summer.
• The wide range of finishes and different formats of existing parts, we can play with the modulation of the facade and give the building a characteristic white color that highlights the brightness of the surrounding areas.
• Inclusion type of a facade ventilated improved thermal performance of the same due to internal convection current is created.
• The positioning system made by a metal substructure anchored to the structure, offers the best guarantee to have the relevant technical approval and have done a specific study to adapt to this unique work.
• Ultimately polymer concrete offers great versatility, ensuring the consistency of the final product.
Development
work order to develop the project, ULMA competed with two other suppliers of various ventilated facade Materials: lightweight panels and natural stone. After a lengthy selection process in which the three firms had to place a sign in book, construction finally in charge of the project opted for ventilated facade ULMA Polymer Concrete. The ease of placement in work, competitive price and durability of the material made ULMA be the best choice.
The project has used polymer concrete panels textured white and slate of between 110 and 180cm wide x 75cm high. In total, 4,000 m2 were supplied vented facade for the work.
slenderness of the building's spectacular clarified particularized studies and trials, in which sections have been redesigned and stud anchors, and has acted in compliance with the highest standards of the Technical Building Code, Grant me mainly wind dynamic pressure which undergoes a building of its kind in height, and preventing load transmission of the envelope to its enclosure.
